specifications the vases have a truncated conical body on a yellow background, in the style of sèvres’ “jaune jonquille,” and a domed lid adorned with a garland of gilded leaves. On the front, each vase features an oval medallion depicting a courtly scene in 18th-century costume, framed by a gilded band with scrollwork. The first vase depicts a musical performance, featuring a violinist, a lady holding a sheet of music, a seated lady with a score, and a gentleman. The second depicts a card game in a garden, with a palace in the background. Both scenes are signed “morin” in white. On the reverse are river landscapes within a wreath of bound golden palm leaves: a river with pollarded willows and a river with an arched bridge. The mounts feature an openwork gallery with a twisted border, cord-loop handles extending from mask-shaped finials, a pinecone knob on a rosette of leaves, and a baluster foot with a pod-shaped base on a square pedestal with rounded corners and rosettes. The sèvres factory marks are painted beneath the porcelain.
