Elevate your mid-century bar cart with this striking vintage cocktail tray from the legendary Couroc of Monterey.
Handcrafted in California during the mid-20th century, this piece features a brilliant, flush-inlaid solid brass Chinese "Shou" character (寿) in the center, a timeless geometric motif symbolizing long life, longevity, and good health.
Couroc trays were meticulously formed from a proprietary, satin-finish black phenolic resin renowned for its durability—completely impervious to alcohol, boiling liquids, and cigarette burns.
What makes this particular tray a rare, premium find is its exceptional California retail provenance. The bottom retains a partially intact original foil label from the iconic, high-end San Francisco luxury emporium Gump’s. Renowned for its curated Asian art collections and fine imports, Gump's commissioned and retailed these exclusive Asian-motif pieces from Couroc, making this a highly collectible snippet of West Coast design history.
Perfect for serving libations, displaying spirits, or styling as a sleek, low-profile catchall on a credenza.
