Crafted around 1920, the mirror features a beautifully shaped rectangular form with softened corners and a bevelled glass border that reflects light with exceptional subtlety and depth.

The border is enriched with finely engraved floral ornamentation, including an elegant flower motif centered along the lower edge, accompanied by delicate scrolling foliage. Decorative glass rosettes and carefully faceted bevels contribute to the light, sophisticated aesthetic that made Venetian-inspired mirrors highly sought after during the Art Deco and late Belle Époque periods.

Unlike heavily ornamented framed examples, this piece relies on the craftsmanship of the glass itself, creating an understated elegance that remains timeless. The combination of engraved decoration, bevelled edges, and transparent detailing allows the mirror to blend effortlessly into both traditional and contemporary interiors.

The mirror retains attractive age-related character, with some spotting and light silvering losses to the glass, as well as oxidation to the original metal retaining clips. These imperfections are consistent with age and contribute to its authentic antique appeal.

A versatile decorative piece, ideal above a console, fireplace mantel, vanity, or in an entrance hall, where its refined Venetian-inspired design can bring light and sophistication to a room. See less
