The walnut veneer on the drawer has a strong striped grain, and the whole box sits on slim, black tapered legs, so it feels light and graphic rather than heavy.

This mix of warm walnut and matte black is very typical of Czechoslovak modernist design from the 60s, when furniture was made to be simple, practical and good-looking.

The drawer is roomy enough for books, glasses or a phone charger, and the top has plenty of space for a lamp and a few things you want close at hand. It's a nice size for a bedroom, but would work just as well as a side table in a living room or hallway. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
