This vintage French Savonnerie rug from the 1950s reflects the refined decorative tradition for which Savonnerie carpets are admired. Machine-woven in soft wool, the rug features a richly detailed central medallion framed by symmetrical geometric and floral motifs in warm red, blue, white, and yellow tones. The composition is balanced and vibrant, with crisp borders that highlight the precision of mid-century French craftsmanship.

The colors remain lively, and the wool pile is in good condition with only light signs of age. Its proportions make it ideal for hallways, entryways, or as an elegant accent in a living space. The fringed ends add a classic touch, enhancing the rug's decorative appeal.

A charming example of mid-20th-century Savonnerie style, this piece brings both sophistication and warmth to any interior.
