A captivating fusion of Himalayan tradition and Art Deco sensibility, this vintage Tibetan rug is a sophisticated statement piece for the modern interior.

Handcrafted in Nepal during the 1960s, this rug features a lush, high-quality wool pile known for its durability and soft luster. The design is anchored by a serene, moss-green field centered with a singular, abstract "Shou" or endless knot-inspired motif—a traditional symbol of longevity and harmony.

The composition is framed by a complex multi-band border. The innermost guard features a delicate geometric vine, while the main border showcases a striking terracotta and navy blue fretwork pattern set against a cool slate-grey backdrop. The subtle variations in the green field (abrash) highlight the use of hand-dyed yarns, giving the rug a painterly depth that mass-produced pieces cannot replicate.

In excellent vintage condition, this rug's minimalist central field and bold architectural borders make it an ideal choice for a contemporary study, a refined entryway, or a Mid-Century Modern living space.
