This magnificent antique Persian Kashan prayer rug, dating from the 1920s, is a masterpiece of classical design and refined artistry. The vibrant madder-red field is defined by a traditional Mihrab (prayer niche) arch, supported by two elegant, highly detailed columns. At the heart of the composition sits an ornate, oversized floral vase from which a symmetrical arrangement of blossoming vines and bouquets emerges, filling the sacred space with life and color. The upper spandrels are rendered in a delicate sky-blue, intricately woven with smaller floral sprays that contrast beautifully against the primary field.

Crafted with the superior, lustrous wool for which the Kashan region is famous, this rug features a sophisticated palette of midnight blue, ivory, rose, and gold. It has survived over a century in remarkable condition, showcasing a genuine antique patina. While the rug maintains its structural integrity, areas of authentic low pile are present, offering the soft, weathered texture that distinguishes a true heritage piece. This rug is a prestigious addition to any collection, ideal for use as a wall hanging or a centerpiece in a formal library or living room.
