This is a finely cast antique gilt bronze sculpture of a treasure ship, a traditional symbol of prosperity and successful return in Asian culture. The vessel is designed in the form of a dragon boat, with an intricately detailed dragon head at the prow and a stylized, swirling wave base. The ship features three masts with ribbed sails, which are inscribed with auspicious characters. The deck is laden with treasure, including coins and ingots, and features a central cabin structure. The bronze is finished with a bright, warm gilt surface that shows a natural, aged patina, with darker tones in the recesses highlighting the intricate casting and engraved details. This piece would make a wonderful decorative object or auspicious display item.
