The monkey is posed kneeling, holding a rectangular object (likely a seal or box) in its raised right hand, with a cheerful expression and a curled tail. The elephant stands foursquare, featuring large flapping ears, tusks, a raised trunk, and a decorative saddle blanket (caparison) adorned with intricate geometric and wave patterns. The bronze retains much of its original gold gilding, which has aged into a warm, mottled patina with reddish-brown undertones and dark oxidation in the recesses, giving the piece a rich, historical character.
