The figure is robustly modeled, emphasizing the animal's strength and heavy form. The surface is richly detailed with deep, textured skin folds and a prominent horn. The bronze retains much of its original gold gilding, which has aged into a beautiful mottled patina with reddish-brown undertones and traces of green oxidation. The underside reveals the hollow casting typical of traditional metalwork. A fine example of animalier bronze sculpture, ideal for a collector of Asian antiques or decorative objects.
