The design is closely related to the iconic folding-chair work of Giancarlo Piretti for Anonima Castelli, particularly the transparent Plia-era aesthetic.

These are especially nice in the brass finish, as comparable examples are much more commonly seen in chrome. The clear acrylic keeps them visually light while the warm brass adds a more glamorous Hollywood Regency feel.

All four fold flat for easy storage and are stamped “Brevettato.” Great as dining chairs, occasional seating, or extra chairs that actually look good enough to leave out.
Piretti’s original Plia folding chair entered production in 1969 and became one of the best-known pieces of Italian folding furniture, which explains the strong visual relationship between these chairs and his designs.

Condition: Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. The brass finish is exceptionally well preserved for its age, with no significant corrosion or major finish loss noted; light surface wear and small marks are present from normal use. The Lucite seats and backs remain clear and present well overall with expected light scratching and surface wear. Three of the four backrests have a small split of approximately 1 inch near the upper area. These are subtle when displayed and do not appear to affect the structural integrity or usability of the chairs. Folding mechanisms function as intended.
