Vintage Goebel Hummel 182 "Good Friends" Figurine - TMK-2 Full Bee (1950s) READ
Up for sale is a vintage M.I. Hummel "Good Friends" porcelain figurine (Model HUM 182). This is an early production piece featuring the highly collectible highly sought-after blue TMK-2 "Full Bee" stamp on the base, dating it between 1950 and 1956.
This authentic mid-century piece features the incised "MIH" of Maria Innocentia Hummel, the Franciscan sister, artist, and creator behind the entire Hummel figurine line. This was Goebel's iconic first tribute mark to Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel, as her name "Hummel" means bumblebee in German.
Adding to the historial charm is the original blue and silver foil sticker reads "KUNSTHAUS" followed by a location name. This is an original vintage retailer's label from Germany or Austria, indicating where the item was first purchased decades ago.
This figurine is being sold "As-Is" due to a very small, visible chip on the front bottom-right corner of the green grass base. Aside from this base chip, the rest of the figurine is in wonderful vintage condition--paint, glaze, and structure are intact with beautiful color. Meas: 4" T; 2.75" W; 3" L.
