The bird is finely cast with incised and relief detailing across the head, neck, and body, including overlapping feather patterns and scrolling motifs. The vessel’s open back forms a shallow receptacle, while the tail extends into an architectural handle-like element. Small stylized feet support the body below. The bronze displays a richly varied green, turquoise, brown, and earthen patina, giving the piece the appearance of an excavated or ancient ritual object. Its design draws strongly from Chinese archaic bronze traditions, particularly later decorative interpretations inspired by Shang and Zhou dynasty ritual forms.
