The vessel is shaped like a traditional tripod cauldron, supported by three legs shaped as gilded lion or foo dog heads. The body is decorated in a rich, deep cobalt blue enamel, adorned with colorful, raised motifs of the twelve zodiac animals, including a monkey, rooster, dog, and tiger, surrounded by gold accents. The sides are flanked by two large, gilded elephant-head handles.

The domed lid is crafted with intricate openwork (reticulated) floral designs in red, green, and gold enamel, allowing incense smoke to escape, and is crowned with a seated, blue-enameled lion finial. The piece features a mix of gilded bronze and enamel, showing a bright, polished finish that highlights the skilled craftsmanship. The base bears a recessed, square seal mark in relief. This is a highly decorative and functional piece perfect for burning incense or as an eye-catching addition to a curated collection.
