Bring classic canine charm and mid-century European craftsmanship to your walls with this wonderful vintage wall plaque by Friedel. Featuring a high-relief, three-dimensional bust of a Boxer dog mounted on a sculpted wooden shield plaque, this piece captures the noble and expressive features of the breed with incredible realism.
The original paper label on the reverse reads "Friedel — PANOPTICUM ANIMALE: The most beautiful animals in their species designed by a Spanish artist" and notes it as "Made in West-Germany," confirming its production era during the West German manufacturing period prior to reunification. A fantastic statement piece for a library, study, den, or gallery wall, this is an exceptional find for Boxer enthusiasts and collectors of vintage animal art.
Circa 1950s–1960s (Mid-Century). The "Made in West-Germany" designation on the original paper label indicates production after the establishment of West Germany in 1949 and typical of Friedel's mid-century export run.

The matte ceramic/porcelain Boxer bust displays crisp hand-painted facial details with no chips or cracks. The wooden mounting shield shows minor signs of age-appropriate wear, including light surface scuffs consistent with mid-century decor items, and the original paper label on the back remains largely intact with wonderful historical character. Please review all photographs carefully, as well as my descriptions, as they are considered part of the condition description. I will often include “Inspiration Photos” (some using AI). These photos may not show the exact item or proper scale, but rather created for inspirational purposes only. Staging items are not included in this sale. Thanks for visiting Fazzio & Tyler. less
