Introduce old-world, historic weight to a desk, bookshelf, or mantel with this exceptional hand-cast chalkware equestrian sculpture. Poured from an authentic, late-19th-century antique Schall NY confectionery mold, this piece masterfully marries vintage collectibility with fine artisan bench finishing.
The sculpture depicts a beautifully modeled horse and rider leaping mid-stride over a detailed, grassy landscape hurdle. Crafted to closely replicate centuries-old foundry bronze, the sculpture features a multi-layered metallic base treated with a hand-applied faux-oxidized verdigris patina. The muted, mineral seafoam tones settle deeply into the fine grooves of the horse’s mane, saddle, and grassy turf base, while the warm, burnished bronze highlights emerge brilliantly along the raised muscle lines, rider silhouette, and polished contours.
The entire piece is professionally sealed with a durable archival topcoat to secure the rich patina detailing and provide a classic, low-luster museum finish. An exceptional statement piece that anchors traditional, rustic lodge, library, or grandmillennial interior spaces with quiet, sophisticated luxury.
