Each piece is crafted from bronze with a rich, dark patina and accented with bright gilding on the antlers and hooves. The deer are shown in a reclining pose with their heads turned, their bodies textured with fine, incised fur patterns. An open, bowl-shaped receptacle, decorated with a gilded, textured rim, is mounted on each deer's back, designed for holding water or as a decorative container. This set is a fine example of traditional decorative art, combining detailed casting with rich gilt accents.
