This striking sculpture depicts a mythical beast, drawing inspiration from traditional guardian lion and water beast motifs. The figure is crafted from bronze with a rich, dark patina and accented with traces of red (cinnabar) and gold pigment, giving it an aged, antique appearance. The creature is shown in a seated position, its front paws resting atop a rectangular base. It features a detailed, flowing mane, bulging eyes with blue painted accents, a broad snout, and a body covered in textured scales. The piece is a fine example of traditional decorative art, combining detailed casting with subtle polychrome accents.
