A striking original limited-edition abstract print by Polish-born artist José Urbach (b. 1940), titled Reflections. Pencil-signed, titled, and numbered 70/125, this interesting vertical composition features an intricate arrangement of interlocking geometric forms in layered shades of blue, , and soft ivory.
Combining angular shapes, subtle textures, and carefully balanced negative space, the composition reflects the geometric abstraction of mid-to-late 20th-century modernist printmaking. Its unusually tall, narrow format creates a distinctive architectural presence.
Born in Poland and raised in Colombia, Urbach established his artistic career in New York, exploring abstraction, experimental printmaking, and mixed-media techniques. His work is represented in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, as well as the New York State art collection.
The artwork appears to be an original color intaglio print, likely employing etching and aquatint techniques. It is presented under glass with an aged beige mat and slender silver-tone metal frame.
