The holder is constructed from cast base metal in three separate pieces, subsequently silver-plated. Its artistic handle features two outward-facing owls, flanked by circular decorative elements adorned with flies, leaves, and butterflies. The rotating wheel and base are embellished with floral bands in repoussé. The wheel remains functional and rotates freely.

A stamped mark on the underside of the wheel reads AURORA WARRANTED SILVER PLATE MFG 484.
