In Chinese culture, a pair of birds often symbolizes love, harmony, and marital bliss. The sculpture features a rich, dark bronze patina with scattered gold-gilt highlights that accentuate the birds' feathers and the texture of the wood.

The base of the sculpture is carved to resemble a rocky outcrop and features a rectangular seal with Chinese characters (reading "Double Happiness Arrives at the Door"). This piece is a perfect example of traditional Chinese decorative arts and makes a sophisticated addition to a desk, bookshelf, or console table. See less
