A beautiful and unusual pair of German porcelain vanity dishes attributed to Unger & Schilde, featuring enchanting blue floral artwork with delicate gold spirals and graceful, flowing lines.
The artwork is particularly captivating. Stylized cobalt-blue and soft-blue blossoms are complemented by whimsical concentric gold spirals, creating an elegant Art Deco Revival aesthetic with a wonderfully artistic character.
Although the two designs are different, they coordinate beautifully. Each dish features a softly curved rectangular form, glossy white porcelain, and a shallow interior, making them lovely for jewelry, rings, or decorative display.
The decoration appears hand-painted or studio-applied, possibly added at a later date to older German porcelain blanks. The undersides retain faded manufacturer's stamps consistent with Unger & Schilde, along with additional blue lettering and numerical markings.
