West German ceramic - not an East German vase
This vase belongs to the so-called "Fat Lava" West German Pottery style, which was very popular in the 1960s. This explains the strong, textured red and black glaze and the rather organic, abstract form. The designer was Heinz Siery, who created the design for Carstens Tönnieshof - this beautiful vase is therefore a collector's item! This piece has an attribution mark,
