Produced during the height of his fame, the photographs capture two contrasting aspects of his public persona: the flamboyant celebrity and the charismatic performer whose distinctive style became synonymous with the New Romantic movement. The first image captures Boy George sharing a kiss with a companion dressed as a French maid while another costumed figure smiles in the background, an exuberant and theatrical scene reflecting the playful, provocative image that made him a global icon of the decade. The reverse bears a handwritten identification reading "Grapevine: Boy George", indicating distribution through the British entertainment press.
