Not signed, as issued. A pair of original vintage gelatin silver press photographs depicting Elton John during the formative years of his meteoric rise to international superstardom. Capturing two contrasting aspects of his public persona, the photographs document both the consummate musician at the piano and the flamboyant fashion icon whose distinctive image became inseparable from the glam rock era. The first photograph presents Elton John in profile seated at a grand piano during performance or rehearsal, wearing his trademark tinted spectacles and boldly striped suit. The intimate composition emphasizes his concentration as a pianist and songwriter, highlighting the musical talent that established him among the defining recording artists of the twentieth century. The second photograph captures Elton John in a candid public appearance, wearing an extravagant fur coat, broad-brimmed hat, and distinctive oversized spectacles while conversing with companions. The image perfectly reflects the theatrical style and fearless fashion that helped redefine the visual identity of popular music during the 1970s. The reverses bear editorial annotations together with Italian press agency stamps, including Agenzia Giornalistica Italia (Rome) and AELLE Agenzia Fotografica (Milan), confirming their original use within the contemporary press.
