Handcrafted from solid wood, the bracket displays remarkable depth of carving, showcasing flowing acanthus scrolls, floral embellishments, and elegant foliate ornamentation, all finished in a warm original gilt patina that highlights its age and craftsmanship. The expressive cherub, with finely carved facial features and softly curled hair, is positioned between symmetrical scrolling wings, creating a striking architectural focal point. Below, the tapered console is adorned with carved floral motifs and scrolling details, terminating in a decorative volute. The rear retains its original carved wooden construction, reflecting traditional period craftsmanship. Originally designed as an architectural console or decorative wall support, this piece is ideal for displaying sculptures, clocks, or decorative objects, while also serving as an impressive standalone wall ornament. Its sculptural quality and rich gilded finish make it equally suited to classical, Baroque, Rococo, French, Italian, or eclectic interiors. See less
