The work captures the quiet atmosphere of twilight, with warm hues of light reflecting on the water amidst the rolling hills. The view is distinguished by the reddish hues of the sky and the textured brushstrokes that depict the tree-lined banks with a rural farmhouse. On the back of the support is a handwritten biographical note attributing the work to the painter Umberto Franciosi (Brescia, 1883-1917). The painting is framed by a period gilded wooden molding with a hanging hook. This collectible painting offers the opportunity to enhance a study wall, a library, or a classically styled living room.
