The circular brass top is richly ornamented with engraved and textured decorative motifs surrounding the central chessboard. The combination of polished brass squares, textured surfaces and ornamental detailing creates a striking contrast with the dark stained oak structure. The table is supported by an architectural geometric base with a stepped octagonal platform, faceted elements and curved supports. These strong geometric forms are characteristic of Art Deco furniture and give the piece a distinctive sculptural quality.
