Historical Provenance & Design Significance: Dating from the American Jacksonian Era (c. 1830–1850), this rare pair of pewter finger lamps represents the height of functional early American domestic illumination prior to the industrial rise of kerosene. Crafted with classical saucer feet and goblet fonts, these lamps showcase the refined simplicity of early American metallic arts.
Curator’s Note: An exceptionally charming paired set for high-end interior styling. The soft, unpolished pewter patina brings authentic 19th-century warmth to modern or traditional vignettes. Ideal as accent pieces on a library mantel, open shelving, bedside commode, or rustic dining tabletop console.

Burner Assembly: Threaded collar caps insert smoothly into both lamp fonts. One tin wick tube remains straight and fully functional; the second tin wick tube exhibits minor crushing/pinching at the top rim, which is typical for soft tin burner tubes of this vintage. Metalwork & Body: Bases show minor expected rim irregularities and tiny micro-dents from historical use. No major splits, solder repairs, or structural damage. Surfaces have been left completely unpolished to preserve original historical integrity. less
