This extraordinary pair of monumental Chinese vases is crafted from copper with vibrant cloisonné enamel work and extensive gold (gilt) detailing. Each vase features a classic baluster form, a domed lid topped with a gilt dragon finial, and ornate gilt handles shaped like scrolling dragons.
The body is richly decorated with a deep red ground, featuring a striking central motif of a stylized, masked face (resembling a traditional Peking Opera mask or Taotie design) surrounded by colorful floral and scrolling foliate patterns in green, white, and blue. The vases are further embellished with gilt bands and rest on ornate, scrolled bases. This impressive matching pair is a masterpiece of traditional Chinese cloisonné craftsmanship and a distinguished addition to any collection of Asian antiques or significant decorative arts.
