The stone is highly prized for its smooth, moist texture and delicate "radish thread" vein patterns, which are clearly visible throughout the piece. It is a "hard material" variety, indicating its exceptional density and quality.

The top of the seal features an intricately carved openwork Pixiu (a mythical auspicious beast), depicted in a dynamic, crouching pose with detailed swirling motifs. The original stone skin (crust) has been skillfully incorporated into the carving.

The rectangular base is engraved with traditional Chinese calligraphy, attributed to the artist Wang Shou, dated to the Xin Hai year. See less
