This impressive vintage Chinese seal is carved from Shoushan Tianhuang stone, highly prized for its warm, rich yellow hue and smooth, translucent texture. The stone exhibits a delicate, fine grain with natural veining that enhances its organic beauty.
The top of the seal features a meticulously carved mythical beast (guardian lion) finial, perched in a powerful, crouching pose with intricately detailed features. The rectangular base is engraved with a red oval seal script mark alongside vertical columns of traditional Chinese calligraphy. This substantial piece is a magnificent example of traditional Chinese seal carving and would make a distinguished addition to any collection of Asian antiques.
