The cabinet is clad in Rohne's signature abstract acid-etched brass, producing an intricate, almost architectural surface with exceptional depth and visual movement. The etched brass is framed by ebony lacquer and accented with brass trim and original brass drawer pulls, creating the sophisticated, highly decorative character for which Rohne's Mastercraft furniture is recognized.

The compact proportions make this an unusually versatile example, equally appropriate as a bedside chest, nightstand, end dresser, occasional cabinet, or display piece. Its sculptural surface makes it particularly effective when placed where the brass can catch ambient light.

The commode remains in fair vintage condition, retaining honest signs of age and use. The brass pulls exhibit an attractive natural patina, with scattered nicks and scuffs throughout and several minor scratches within the etched brass surfaces. These imperfections are relatively difficult to discern because of the complexity of the acid-etched pattern. The upper portion exhibits some finish peeling, as shown in the photographs.
