This striking octagonal plate captures the romantic elegance of the European Jugendstil movement, with its graceful organic lines, flowing botanical motifs, and finely modeled feminine portrait.

The maiden's serene profile is surrounded by sweeping strands of hair, a sculptural floral rosette, and delicate blossoms. The raised silver-toned relief contrasts beautifully with the darker, antiqued background, lending the composition remarkable depth and dimension.

The eight-sided border frames the recessed circular portrait, while the reverse reveals the corresponding relief of the design. A small "aS" stamp appears on the back near the raised circular ridge.

The plate bears stylistic similarities to Art Nouveau metalwork associated with Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF), although the maker has not been conclusively identified. The metal composition is also unverified.

Dimensions: Approximately 9¼ inches point to point, 8¾ inches across opposite flat sides, and ½ inch deep.

Condition: Good antique or vintage condition with surface scratches, scattered finish wear, and variations in the darkened patina. The reverse exhibits additional age-related wear and areas of iridescent coloration. The sculptural details remain beautifully defined. No obvious cracks or major structural damage are visible.
