The classic design with a spherical central body, … Read more A distinctive and very heavy historical flemish-type chandelier, made of solid bronze. The classic design with a spherical central body, six s-shaped curved arms and richly shaped volute elements is based on traditional dutch and flemish lamps of the 18th and early 19th centuries. The chandelier was originally intended for candles. An interesting design detail is the individually removable arms, which are secured in the central part with small conical pins. This solution allowed the arms to be easily removed and cleaned of dripping wax. This is an older construction method, while later chandeliers often used screwed arm fastening. Electrification was carried out subsequently, probably in the second half of the 20th century. The original massive arms were not drilled for wiring, and the electrical wires are therefore run along their surface. This solution preserved the original design of the historical lamp. The electrical installation has been checked and the chandelier is fully functional. The power cable is new, made in a historic design with textile braiding, but at the same time meets modern requirements and contains a three-core cable including protective earthing. The chandelier is fitted with six e14 sockets for bulbs with a maximum power of 40 w. Classic, halogen and modern led bulbs can be used. Due to the open construction and candle-like character of the luminaire, flame-shaped bulbs are particularly suitable. The bronze surface retains a natural old patina, which highlights the age and authentic character of the object. With a weight of approximately 14 kg, this is an exceptionally robust and representative luminaire suitable for larger historical interiors, castle spaces, entrance halls, dining rooms or salons.
