Artist's proof. The works belongs to his celebrated graphic suite illustrating Nikolai Gogol's satirical masterpiece, Le Journal d’un Fou (Diary of a Madman), published in 1976. The Inscription: Written in French, the main body of the print reads: "Les propriétaires de Koursk écrivent bien." This phrase reflects the erratic, fragmented logic of the protagonist in Gogol’s story as he descends into madness. Rather than acting as mere text, the words function as the central plastic elements. The handwritten letters are structured like colorful paper collage fragments, echoing the cut-out tradition pioneered b Henri Matisse. Printed on Fabriano Paper b Officile Litografiche della Quercia.
