The figure emerges softly from a rich blue and green background, her pale clothing illuminated by delicate touches of pink, yellow and white. Rather than defining the scene through precise details, Criscuolo allows colour and gesture to suggest the atmosphere of a childhood memory: distant, fragile and full of emotion.
The traces of writing surrounding the figure become almost abstract marks, blending with the expressive brushwork and reinforcing the sense of a remembered moment. The girl is not presented as a conventional portrait, but as a universal image of childhood, learning and those quiet moments that remain in the memory long after they have passed.
Signed lower left, the work is titled and stamped on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 90 × 50 cm. Presented unframed.
A poetic and atmospheric interpretation of childhood, where the simplicity of a school scene becomes a reflection on memory, innocence and the passage of time. This piece has an attribution mark,
