A striking original etching and aquatint by French artist Georges Bruyer, depicting an elderly peasant woman laboriously pushing a heavily laden wheelbarrow beneath the sheltering branches of an ancient tree. Created in 1922, this evocative composition reflects Bruyer's lifelong fascination with rural life and his ability to imbue humble subjects with quiet dignity and symbolic resonance. Good overall condition with a strong, well-contrasted impression displaying crisp etched lines and rich aquatint tones. The sheet appears clean with light age-related toning and minor handling wear confined principally to the margins, consistent with age. The image remains fresh and visually impressive.
