the set consists of an extendable model 15 dining table and six model 78 dining chairs. The entire set is crafted from fine exotic wood with remarkably rich, deep and contrasting grain. The tabletop is particularly striking, with the natural figuring of the wood creating an expressive, almost graphic composition.
the round dining table features an integrated folding extension leaf, allowing the surface to be easily enlarged. When extended, the table takes on an elegant oval form while retaining the lightness and beautifully balanced proportions characteristic of the finest danish modern design. Its slender, subtly sculpted legs further emphasize the refined silhouette.
the accompanying model 78 chairs are among niels otto møller’s most recognizable designs. Their sculptural backrests, flowing lines and beautifully refined details demonstrate the exceptional craftsmanship for which j.l. Møller is renowned. All six chairs have been fitted with new, hand-woven seats, carefully made to preserve the character and integrity of the original design.
the entire set has undergone a comprehensive professional restoration in our workshop. The structures have been carefully inspected, and the wooden surfaces meticulously restored while preserving the natural character and exceptional depth of the grain. The wood has been finished with high-quality osmo oil, beautifully enhancing its rich figuring and natural depth while providing an elegant, refined finish.
the original j.l. Møller models – made in denmark manufacturer’s labels have been preserved, and the table also bears the danish furnituremakers’ control mark, a testament to the high standards of danish furniture craftsmanship.
the set is in excellent professionally restored condition and ready for immediate use.
