This exceptional piece captures the transitional elegance of the early 20th century. Its unusual Oval shape and elongated dimensions define it as a specialized hallway runner rug, perfect for adding period drama to an entrance or corridor while maintaining a sense of refined historical provenance. This rug measures approximately 6ft x 8.09ft.

Hand-knotted from luxurious wool, the texture is soft and dense, characteristic of high-quality Art Deco production. The primary field color is a warm, nuanced tone that falls within the ivory color spectrum, providing a sophisticated, neutral backdrop against the vibrant palette of the central design. The subtle sheen of the wool enhances the depth of the knotting and the clarity of the dyes.

The design showcases a magnificent central spray of blossoms, a classic Art Deco interpretation of traditional Chinese motifs. Unlike severe geometric Art Deco designs, this piece embraces organic form, featuring detailed floral rugs patterns rendered in saturated blues, greens, and reds, framed by scrolling vine borders that emphasize the Oval rug's unique curvature.

Dating back precisely to the 1920s, this runner is a rare testament to the period's fascination with Eastern aesthetics fused with modern sensibilities. Such distinctive, well-preserved examples are highly sought after by collectors of antique rugs and textiles, offering both historical value and enduring decorative impact for the discerning interior.
