Sitting on these Lee Industries counter height stools is like sitting in an adult high chair in the very best way possible.
The stools are almost OVER-engineered for stability, so there is absolutely no movement whatsover in any of the joints. It's a bit eerie sitting in these, like when you first get into a Prius and it's eerily quiet without any engine noises. It seems wrong at first.
Amazingly, you barely need to use your core muscles to stay upright in these stools. The oversized footrests seem a mile wide, so it feels like your feet are actually on the floor.
The three-sided structure of arm-back-arm creates a pleasant little nook that feels so secure and enclosed.
I cannot overemphasize how great it is to sit in these counter height stools.
That said, the stools need some work to look as great as they feel. There are linen checkered slipcovers that are worn at the arms. You could use these as a pattern to create new slipcovers and make the stools look brand new.
The dark stained wood base shows wear in the form of scratches, marks, and finish loss on the foot rests. You could paint the bases or touch them up with furniture stain. Or just leave them as is because you can't find adult high chairs every day.
Actually you can. Because Lee Industries still makes this stool, but it'll set you back $1400 PER STOOL if you bought them new.
Lee Industries is a posh furniture maker that is well known for nice things like 8-way hand-tied springs. Their furniture is super duper well made, so these stools are well worth rehabbing to make them your own.
They're comfortable enough to sit in for long periods while, for example, working at your laptop from home at your kitchen counter.
Pretty counter stools are great. But these are stools you can live in.
Each stool measures 36" tall, 22" wide, and 21" deep with a 26" seat height and 29.5" arm height.
