Tabletop picture frame designed by Nicolas De Waël, probably produced by the French foundry Fondica during the 1990s. It features a rectangular structure in gilded cast metal, decorated at the four corners with stylized organic motifs, resembling flowers, leaves, or drops. The textured and slightly irregular finish gives it the handcrafted and sculptural character associated with De Waël's creations for Fondica. It has a glass front, a back panel covered in black fabric, metal clasps, and an articulated support for vertical display. Signed “De Waël” on the frame.
