Torch-bearing putti holding stylized torches; the curved element of the right figure belongs to the design of the torch and drapery, not being a lyre. Probable identification: Italian production, in Baroque style, 19th century. Pair of winged putti carved in wood, polychrome and partially gilded, depicted in motion and holding large torches. The figures have ivory-toned bodies, gilded hair and drapery, and wings painted in bluish-green. Decorative work in Baroque style, probably Italian, from the mid-19th century. The polychromy shows aged patina, craquelure, darkening, and small losses and abrasions in the gilding, consistent with age. See less
