This charming pair of gilt cloisonne enamel elephant figures brings a touch of traditional elegance and prosperity to any interior. Each elephant is finely crafted with intricate wirework separating enamel cells on a turquoise ground, featuring a dense pattern of scrolling floral motifs in shades of red, pink, and white. The elephants have gilded trunks, ears, and feet, and are adorned with decorative square saddle blankets featuring a central character and geometric key-fret borders. One elephant is depicted with its trunk raised high in a gesture symbolizing good fortune, while the other holds a small vessel. The undersides bear a raised, square seal mark containing the characters "乾隆年製" (Made in the Qianlong Period). In traditional culture, elephants are symbols of power, wisdom, and strength. This pair makes a distinguished addition to a collection of cloisonne or Asian decorative arts.
