A heavy, square block-form glass inkwell with thick, clear walls and beveled edges. It has a round, domed silver or silver-plate hinged lid, slightly dented, on a short collared neck rising from the flat top. The plain, minimalist styling suggests an early 20th-century desk inkwell. The glass shows light surface scratches. Marked: Brook & Son, Edinburgh with Sheffield assay marks circa 1924.
Provenance: from the executive offices of The Hit Factory, a legendary NYC recording studio.
