An unusual antique hand-wrought iron standing candleholder, dating to the late 18th. The tall central shaft is fitted with a horizontal two-light candle arm, cylindrical candle sockets with drip pans, and a pair of small curled hooks traditionally used for suspending candle tools.
The stand rests on three gracefully arched legs terminating in flattened pad feet and displays visible hammer marks, forged joints, and subtle irregularities characteristic of hand-worked iron. A turned knop along the central shaft adds a restrained decorative detail to the otherwise utilitarian form.
With its strong architectural silhouette and dark naturally aged surface, the piece works beautifully in an Early American, Colonial, primitive, country-house, or collected contemporary interior.
