An elegant white porcelain figure of a lady holding a fan, distinguished by her softly lowered gaze, elaborate coiffure, and flowing robes. A delicate floral hair ornament, individually defined fingers, and sculptural ribbon details reward a closer look.
The glossy ivory-white glaze catches the light across deep folds of fabric, emphasizing the graceful movement of her sleeves and draped shawl. Her quiet expression lends the figure a particularly lovely presence on a bookshelf, console, or collected display.
The underside is hollow and bears a lightly scratched number “36,” its meaning undetermined. Maker and date are unknown.
