The domed, removable lid is octagonal and decorated with pierced, openwork designs, topped with a gilt finial shaped like a seated guardian lion holding a ball. The body is richly decorated in relief with the Eight Buddhist Treasures (Ba Ji Xiang), including the wheel, parasol, and endless knot, amidst scrolling clouds. The legs are modeled as animal masks. The underside bears an embossed square seal mark containing the characters "大清乾隆年製" (Made in the Great Qing Qianlong Period). This piece is a striking example of traditional metalwork and makes a distinguished decorative accent.
