This charming pair of vintage cloisonne enamel elephant figurines brings a touch of traditional elegance to any interior. Each elephant is finely crafted with intricate wirework separating vibrant enamel cells on a turquoise ground, featuring a dense pattern of scrolling floral motifs in shades of pink, red, blue, yellow, and white. The elephants have gilded trunks, ears, and feet, and are adorned with decorative red and gilt saddle blankets featuring a central character. Their trunks are raised in a gesture symbolizing good fortune and strength. The undersides bear impressed seal marks. In traditional culture, elephants are symbols of power, wisdom, and prosperity. This pair makes a delightful addition to a collection of cloisonne or Asian decorative arts.
