Original Ant 3101 chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen for the renowned Danish manufacturer Fritz Hansen.
The Ant is one of the most recognisable designs in the history of Danish modernism. Designed by Jacobsen in 1952, its distinctive organic silhouette, with a dramatically narrowed backrest, quickly became an icon of Scandinavian design.
The chairs offered here are the four-legged 3101 version, made from moulded plywood and finished in the original Nine Grey colour. The cool, understated grey tone is paired with a slender base of chromed steel.
Their lightweight construction and stackable design make the Ant ideal as a dining chair as well as for offices, conference rooms and commercial interiors. A larger group of matching chairs creates a particularly striking visual effect.
The chairs are original Fritz Hansen production and retain the manufacturer’s markings underneath the seats.
8 chairs are available. They can be purchased individually, as a pair, as a set of four, or as the complete set.
The chairs are used and show various signs of wear, including scuffs, minor scratches and local imperfections to the finish. The chromed elements may also show minor signs of use. Overall, they retain a very attractive and authentic vintage character.
